After 3 studio albums, 2 video clips and more than 100 gigs in 6 years, IN ARKADIA is back in 2012 with a whole new line-up, and a much more brutal and efficient DeathMetal style.
The band releases in February 2012 their EP : "REGURGITATE" meant to introduce to their audience, the new face of what would be affectionately called "IA 2.0", before diving into the recording of a new album.
4th full-length release "EYES OF THE ARCHETYPE", produced by the Kohlekeller Studio in Germany and released in February 2013, is a pure exemple of a DeathMetalCore inspired by bands like The Black Dahlia Murder or Whitechapel.
This album, signed on the independant label M&O Music, opens the door of the international for the band, embarking on a 2-years promotional tour along with The Faceless, Psycroptic, Dark Tranquillity, Biohazard, Sodom, Decapitated, Born From Pain, All For Nothing, Nightrage, Tagada Jones, Benighted, Vader, Gorod, Napalm Death...
After more than 120 gigs across 20 countries, among which a Russian-Eastern European tour and a Japan tour, IN ARKADIA releases in June 2014 a new single called "PRIDE AS A KNIFE, along with, a few months later, a retrospective video summing up this amazing adventure.
Now is the time for the band to move forward in the writing of their 5th studio album, due 2015.
The structure of "Eyes Of The Archetype" is very epic and cohesive, and is made all the more epic with the inclusion of songs like "Orgasmophobia", the excellent “Reborn”, and the climax, “Lifeslicer”. While almost all the songs are harsh and in your face, they still have a lot of diversity to them, and they fit together like puzzle pieces. Each song represents a main event that occurs in the album’s story, and causes the listener to picture what the different places he goes to on his journey will look like- a common tactic used by Metallica, especially in their prime. Some tracks are better than others, but overall there is something to like about each one.
Brutal anf yet takes the listener to a journey of epic proportions once your ears have stopped bleeding. Definitely one of the contenders for album of the year.
