"Reminiscent Of A Early Priest/Maiden"
The Filth Hounds hail from Newcastle and consider their sound to be the new breed/wave of British heavy metal (NWOBHM). They have just released their debut album "Release The Hounds" which at the moment is only available at Reflex, Beatdown Records and RPM Music in Newcastle, not to worry tho it will be released digitally in Oct and you can be sure I will put the link up once that goes live. With that they are playing upcoming shows over the UK and Europe and currently are number one in the Newcastle Reverbnation metal chart. The future is certainly bright indeed.
The NWOBHM is most certainly a underrated genre, I mean we invented "metal" right? Take these three tracks for example. I love how the sound of this is reminiscent of an early Judas Priest and Maiden but brought up to date with a similar sound such as The Darkness. It has great depth despite being only three tracks and the character it gives is amazing. The kind that doesn't give a fuck, just wants to rock out all night and get soaked in whisky. If they keep this kind of quality at a minimum then expect the album to be immense.
