Hailing from the filthy streets of Hollywood, California, comes 4 piece American metalcore outfit Tempting Fate. Busting on the scene like a breath of fresh air, Tempting Fate has set out to deliver a unique blend of music with a style all their own. Although predominately metalcore, Tempting Fate has a dynamic sound, drawing influences from both death metal and electronica. Their music can be described as heavy grooving, melodic, and fast metal focused on catchy choruses and harmonized guitar solos. The band was formed in 2010 by brothers Cory Beecher and Shane Beecher, and consists of Cory Beecher (Vocals), Shane Beecher (Guitar), Matt Campbell (Bass), and Austin SinClaire (Drums). Tempting Fate has managed to build a strong following in Los Angeles through performing live at multiple concerts/showcases over the past 3 years as well as the Sunset Music Festival in 2012. In 2013, the band decided to hit the studio to focus on their new sound and new album.
For 2014, Tempting Fate is looking to take things to the next level with the Spring release of their latest 8 song EP "Illusions", which was written, recorded, and produced entirely by the band themselves. This brand new album is a brain crushing mix of heavy deathcore, electronica, and melodic guitar leads that is sure to leave you wanting more.
Musically this album is an technical affair, ramping up the shred to some rather mind bending levels, with the transitions between the light speed runs, tight modern metal riffing, and mathy stop start sections seamlessly binding it all together. It's rather impressive considering just how many shifts and change ups there are in each song.
When the band isn’t chugging away they’re mindlessly hitting you with sweeps at each turn. It’s fast and there is certainly a lot going on. Of course there are a lot of dynamic shifts and tempo changes.
