TTSD have been featured quite a lot on here and have just gotten back from playing the new blood stage at Bloodstock. I caught up with them and here's what they had to say
Hi guys, First off congratulations on playing bloodstock. How was it?
Hey! Thanks, man. It was great. An absolute blast. The weather sucked at times, and I didn't sleep very well, but it was such a great experience that all the negatives were easily eclipsed.
How did the bloodstock gig come about?
Most unsigned bands like ourselves take the Metal 2 The Masses route. We don't have the competition at home, so decided to travel to Mansfield to take part. We didn't win our heat, due to not having any support down there with us being a way from home and the vote being 50/50 between audience and judges. A few huffy days later, we were contacted by Bloodstock and offered a slot regardless. So we must have impressed somebody.
Can we expect to to see more of TTSD at festivals this year?
Maybe not this year, as they're all pretty much in the summer. But hopefully next year we can do a couple.
Bloodstock and the new blood stage looked pretty brutal this year. How do you rate the current UK underground death metal scene?
There's a lot of talent hidden in the depths of our underground. But the best thing is, thanks to digital media, it's easier for bands in our position to be heard and spread our message.
Who impressed you guys the most at bloodstock and especially the new blood stage?
The band of the weekend for me personally was Down. True pros. Really enjoyed Carcass and Crowbar too. As for the Newblood stage, Psykosis had the tent packed and thrashed it to fuck. King Goat were nuts and Abhorrent Decimation were awesome too.
What was the general feedback from the crowd after your performance at bloodstock?
It was all positive. We had a few people ask us for CDs and drum sticks and stuff. Really nice.
We noticed that on your fb page one of your band members hand was in a cast. Can you tell us what happened?
Yeah... Our drummer enjoyed the spoils of good beer a little bit too much! He ended up snapping a bone in his thumb and spraining his whole hand by falling on it. We think! Even he isn't sure how it happened! But we still made him play. We're nice like that!
The 4 M rated review of your demo on MM described it as "a full onslaught of sheer aggression and brutality". How would you describe your sound?
Hmm... Aggression and brutality are definitely the main ingredients, so I think that pretty much nails it! Thanks!
What can we expect from TTSD this year and next?
Well we obviously now have to wait for Knox's hand to heal. We're gonna use the time away from rehearsal to write for the album. We've got so many strong riffs banked just waiting to be worked on. There's also a tour planned for November. As for next year, we aim to record our first album and just push the band as hard and as far as we can.
